What’s the difference between a flame retardant agent and a flame retardant masterbatch?
Obviously, the flame retardant agent is a kind of agent which is used for stopping the burning of products. It is a functional agent which enables the flammable polymers to be non-flammable.
Flame retardant masterbatch is a material which contains flame retardant agents. It has become the most excellent flame retardant product which is widely used in plastics and rubber. Different flame retardant ingredients are premixed with the based polymers, then loaded into twin screw extruder or triple screw extruder for mixing, extrusion and cutting into pellets. Flame retardant is easier to be added into the polymer, more clean, more efficient, less usage, less impact on the mechanical performance of the polymer, compared to the flame retardant agents.
XPS flame retardant masterbatch is a newly explored eco-friendly masterbatch, it has no harm to the environment. Compare to the old flame retardant masterbatch, the new flame retardant for the XPS foam board is more difficult to process. After countless testing with the cooperation of our customers. COWELL succeed in the whole process.
The basic machine components are as follows:
- Gravimetric feeding system for polymer, flame retardant agent,
- High torque twin screw extruder
- Under water pelletizing system
Post dealing system including vibrator, silo and packing system.
